Welcome

Some storms knock you overboard

We all go through storms. They can knock us overboard and leave us feeling like we are drowning, lost, and alone. Often in the middle of one we have no idea where to begin rebuilding from the damage. Psalm 23 Counseling exists so that you have a trained counselor walking beside you on the way back to stable ground.

Golden light on moving water

Grief

"Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me."

Comfort in the darkness and healing for the scars. For the loss of a person, and for the loss of the future you thought you were going to have.

Anxiety

"He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside the still waters."

Peacefulness in the middle of chaos and restoration for the soul. For the mother, the caregiver, and anyone living under constant pressure.

College and Career

"He restores my soul. He leads me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake."

Seeking fulfillment from God and putting your spiritual talents to work. For students and for adults rethinking the path they are on.

Meet your counselor

Stephanie Dean, MA, LPC Associate

My mission is to provide Christ centered counseling to those who are struggling with grief, anxiety, and deciding the right college or career path. Every client is different in personality, beliefs, behavior, and background, so I use the therapeutic techniques that fit the person in front of me. All of them are centered on biblical truth.

I have experienced deep grief and the loss of a spouse. My own journey is what led me to walk with others through theirs. It is a journey that should not be done alone.

Psalm 23 holds a special place in my heart. Growing up I faced many trials, and I would recite it in my mind to guide me through difficult losses, high anxiety moments, and following God's path for me. I want to share that same comfort with you.

"The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures; he leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me." Psalm 23:1-4

Getting started

Three steps, and the first one is small

Step One

Reach out

Request an appointment through the client portal, or simply call or text. Most people call. Either way you will hear back about scheduling and pricing, and you are welcome to ask anything you want about how counseling works before you commit.

Step Two

Your first session

The first session is held in person at the Weatherford office, and it is mostly listening. You tell your story at whatever pace feels right. If there is time, we start setting the goals you want counseling to work toward.

Step Three

Keep walking

After the first visit you and your counselor decide together what fits, whether that is in person or online, individual or group. The pace is yours. Healing takes time and attention, the same way a broken bone does.
