Seasons of Life

As the seasons change I am reflective on the seasons of my life. I am thankful for the different seasons that is brought to us. In life we have joyful seasons full of laughter, playing, singing, dancing, and pure joy. I love these seasons, every time I remember watching my 5 year old daughter play or I remember my late husband being goofy to get me to smile joy fills my heart. This kind of joy brings happiness in my life even if my circumstances are hard at that moment. My heart starts to glimmer with light and my face smile with joy. Memories of joyful seasons are great to hold on to in the difficult seasons of life. We all know to well the difficult seasons the ones where it never seems to stop raining, we can never catch a break, and we are just tired of running. These seasons aren’t so fun. There is no light, not a lot of joy, and very little hope sometimes. Sometimes this difficult season feels like it will stay forever. It is easy to get stuck in this season. It is easy to want to go run and hide while we wait for this season to pass. During these difficult seasons my encouragement is to dive into truths that anchor you. Truths that hold you steady in a wavering storm. It is difficult to tell truths from lies in our mind when we are fighting a storm. Remember the joyful seasons, remember who you are truly, remember who God is, and who he says you are. These are truth anchors to hold onto when the storm knocks you down. I am reminded of when Peter walked on water. He stayed above water when he kept his eyes and faith on Jesus. That is what we must do in difficult seasons. Focus on the one who can hold us steady, who can calm the storm, who is the powerful loving author of life. When we focus on him instead of our circumstances are problems peace starts to fill our hearts. The difficult season may last a while but if we hold onto our truth anchor we will make it out of the storm with peace in our hearts. Whether you are going through a joyful or difficult season remember what is your truth anchor, who/what do you hold onto and never lose grip.

Thank you for reading. I hope you have a peaceful moment today grounded in truth.
